The problem

The basement had flooded twice in three years. Undersized gutters were overflowing at every heavy rain and the downspouts were discharging within a foot of the foundation wall.

Sizing to the roof

We measured actual roof area and rainfall intensity, then installed seamless six-inch aluminium gutter with oversized three-by-four downspouts and hidden hangers at 24-inch centres.

Four leaders were buried and routed twenty feet out to daylight. The basement has stayed dry through two full winters since.
