About

A small crew that would rather be trusted than be the cheapest.

Ridgeline Build started in 2009 with one truck and a rule that has not changed: we do not cover anything we would not want covered on our own house.

How we work

Most exterior work fails at the details nobody photographs — the flashing behind a chimney, the underlayment at a valley, the intake vent that was never cut in. Those are the parts we build first and document hardest.

We stay deliberately small: two full crews, both employed directly, both led by someone who has been with us more than six years. That is why the person who walks your roof at the estimate is on site the week we build it, and why we can put a fifteen‑year workmanship warranty in writing without flinching.

We turn down roughly one job in five. Usually because a repair is honestly the better answer, and occasionally because the timeline someone needs would force us to cut a corner we are not willing to cut.

The crew

Who shows up.

Sam Okafor

Founder · Estimator

Seventeen years on Portland roofs. Writes every estimate himself and climbs every roof before quoting one.

Nora Whitfield

Crew lead · Roofing

Manufacturer‑certified installer. Runs the tear‑off crew and signs off on every deck before it gets covered.

Elias Barrow

Crew lead · Exteriors

Carpenter by training. Handles siding, rainscreen assemblies, and all window reflashing work.

Standards

Details that never appear on a cheap bid.

Ice & water shield

Full membrane at eaves, valleys, and every penetration — not just a 3‑foot courtesy strip.

New flashing throughout

Step, counter, and apron flashing replaced. Reusing old flashing is where most reroofs eventually leak.

Balanced ventilation

Intake and exhaust sized together, so the attic actually breathes and the deck stays dry.

Deck inspection, documented

Every sheet checked once the old covering is off, with photos before anything gets covered again.

Permits pulled, always

Permitted and inspected work, which matters the day you sell the house.

Landscape protection

Beds tarped, gutters cleared, and a magnetic sweep of the whole property each evening.

Come meet the crew on your own roof.

We will walk the roof, photograph what we find, and hand you a written number — whether or not you hire us.
