Alameda Ridge Reroof
A 1924 Tudor with three failed layers and a chronic valley leak. We took it back to the deck, replaced 140 sq ft of sheathing, and rebuilt the valleys in open metal.

What we found
Three layers of asphalt, a valley that had been patched with roll roofing, and 140 square feet of sheathing soft enough to flex underfoot. The previous crew had layered over the problem twice.
How we built it
We took the roof back to bare deck, replaced the compromised sheathing, and rebuilt both valleys in open painted metal rather than woven shingle. Ice and water shield runs three feet up from the eaves and the full length of every valley.
Ridge ventilation was added to a roof that previously had none, which drops attic temperature in August and stops the winter condensation that had been staining the upstairs ceilings.
